Leveraging the Historic Tax Credit

Webinar hosted by the CCIM Institute. Instructor: William Overman, CCIM

Tuition: $150

Since its enactment in 1976, the historic tax credit has been a vital incentive for the private sector to preserve and rehabilitate historic buildings, transforming them back into income-producing properties. In the upcoming Leveraging the Historic Tax Credit course, you’ll be provided with a general understanding of the Federal and State tax credit program, its guidelines, how they work, and the application process.

In light of the current pandemic, redevelopment will become an increasingly relevant option for owners. You’ll learn how the incentive can help a redevelopment project work financially, especially in cases where it may not pencil out without the credit. You’ll also learn what is required for a property to qualify for federal and state tax credits and the important areas of focus in preparing a winning application.

In this 90-minute online, instructor-led course, all participants are provided a proforma template, which helps even the novice understand a go/no-go decision when using the historic tax credit.
